Community Consultation

Listening To The North

As a leader in the Community, Council acts on behalf of the diverse “communities of interest” within the District, and works with residents and ratepayers so that they can confidently participate in local democracy. Part of Council’s commitment to informed and actively participating citizens is to timetable and publicise issues for consultation.

Over coming months, Council will be consulting on the following issues:

Draft Speed Limit Bylaw 2008

The Land Transport Rules: Setting of Speed Limits 2003, Setting of Speed Limits Amendment 2005 and Speed Limits Amendment 2007 gives Councils the power to set speed limits for their areas. This has to be done by means of bylaws. This Report outlines the proposed review of the FNDC Speed Limits Bylaw 2005 and proposes that a replacement bylaw be made.
Submissions close Thursday 09th October 2008 at 4.30pm, If Hearings and Deliberations are required this will be held on Friday 24th October 2008. Final adoption by Council will be on Thursday 27th November 2008 and the bylaw will come into force on Monday 01st December 2008.
Sanitary Works Subsidy Scheme (SWSS) application for Ngawha Springs township and eligible SH12 properties

Open day for notified Ngawha Springs township property owners:

Open day for notified Ngawha SH12 property owners within the area of benefit:

  • 11am-1pm Saturday 18 October 2008 Kaikohe Golf and Squash Club

Ngawha Springs Property Owners are being consulted on the proposed pipe layouts for a new sewer reticulation scheme to be installed with Sanitary Works Subsidy Scheme funding.

Property owners will receive written notification of the applicable open day.
