Independent
Survey Will Be Used To Improve Council Performance |
Far North householders
will be selected at random and asked to give their views on a wide range
of Far North District Council services and issues during the next 10
days. (from Friday May 16 to Sunday May 25 inclusive)
Independent market research company National Research Bureau has been
commissioned by the council to carry out the telephone survey in order
to get an unbiased appraisal of the way in which it conducts its business.
“We hope people will take the time to respond to the survey so
that we get the public feedback we need in order to find out what we’re
doing well and what we need to do better,” said Chief Executive
Clive Manley.
“We need to know how we’re doing in terms of meeting our
customer contact vision of ‘making things easier for you, getting
it right, and doing what we say we will do’. This council is very
determined to put our customers first, so it stands to reason that we
need to know what our customers want and whether we are on the right
track in terms of our goals and achievements.”
The National Business Bureau, which offers specialised market research
services to councils throughout New Zealand, intends to survey people
from all three wards of the district.
The survey is in keeping with changes in local government whereby councils
are urged to take active steps toward better understanding and meeting
their residents’ wishes.
