Notice is hereby given that for the purpose of running the Kerikeri Lions Country Fair 2010 the following roads will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder.

A report by independent consultants McKinlay Douglas which looked at the best options for local government for Northland has recommended the existing four-council structure should be simplified.

Prohibited Water Uses In Kaitaia (9 March 2010)
Due to drought conditions, the available water supply in Kaitaia is not sufficient to allow the unrestricted consumption of water. Special measures are necessary in order to conserve the available water supply. The use of water for the following specified purposes is prohibited, effective immediately:
Water Restrictions (3 March 2010)
Due to ongoing drought conditions, the water supply in Kaitaia is no longer sufficient to provide for unrestricted water use. A Water Shortage Direction has been issued by the Northland Regional Council which means that with immediate effect, the supply available to the Kaitaia community is restricted to a maximum of 2600m3 per day.
