Problems with playgrounds

If there is a problem with playground facilities, please contact the Council so that this may be attended to.  Please log a request for service,or contact us using our normal contact details,with the following information:

  • The name and/or the street address of the park or reserve?
  • Where in the park or reserve is the playground or timber skate ramp?
  • What item is broken or faulty?
  • Is the item faulty because of vandalism or wear and tear or missing?
  • If any injury has occurred as a result of the problem and nature of injury

Rubbish in parks

If there is a problem with litter in one of the Council Parks, please contact the Council so that this may be cleaned up.  Please log a request for service, or contact us using our normal contact details, with the following information:

  • The name and/or the street address of the park or reserve
  • Where in the park or reserve is the rubbish
  • How much rubbish there and is it highly visible
  • Is the problem caused by overflowing litter bins or has someone dumped rubbish in the park?

If you think the litter constitutes a danger to the public then please call our call centre immediately and the call will be handled by our after hours service.

Problems with toilets or changing rooms in parks

If there is a problem with litter in one of the Council Parks, please contact the Council so that this may be cleaned up.  Please log a request for service, or contact us using our normal contact details, with the following information:

  • The name and/or the street address of the park or reserve
  • Where in the park or reserve is the toilet and which toilet
  • What is the nature of the problem (damage to structure, cleaning required or out of paper/soap/towels)
  • If the problem was as a likely result of vandalism

Flooding and water

If there floods or problems with stormwater pipes, cesspits or pipes, please log a request for service, or contact us using our normal contact details, with the following information:

  • What is the name and/or the street address of the park or reserve or reserve? 
  • Where in the park or reserve is the damage or problem? 
  • What is the nature of the flooding or ponding?
  • What is the extent of the damage or problem? 
  • Any information about pipes that may have collapsed
  • Is the water discharging on to a beach?

If the flooding is of an urgent nature and likely to cause damage to property or danger to people, please call our  call centre immediately and the call will be handled by our after hours service.

General maintenance required in Council park

If there are any parks where general maintenance is required, please contact the Council so that this may be actioned. Please log a request for service, or contact us using our normal contact details, with the following information:

  • The name and/or the street address of the park or reserve
  • Where in the park or reserve is the problem
  • What is the nature of the problem (plants missing, potential fire hazard, overgrown grass, rat hourbourage)

Graffiti in Parks

If there is graffiti in a park or on a playground, please advise the council, particularly if the graffiti contains swear words or a racist, threatening or derogative message. Please log a request for service, or contact us using our normal contact details, with the following information:

  • What is the name and the street address of the park? 
  • What part of the park or playground is the graffiti on, and what is the extent of it? 
  • Is the graffiti offensive? 
  • Is a special event scheduled for the park? If so what day and time?

Trees in Parks

The Council does not prune trees because they are blocking residents' views. Trees or branches are only removed in the following situations: 
  • Safety issues (i.e. they are likely to fall on property or person due to decline etc)
  • They shade rooms over 50% of the day 
  • They are dropping debris (not leaves) over a house 
  • Public access to an area is affected.

If you believe the problem falls within the above criteria, please log a request for service, or contact us using our normal contact details, with the following information:

  • The name and/or the street address of the park
  • Where in the park or reserve is the tree
  • What is the exact issue? 
  • What type and how many trees are involved? 
  • Are there buildings nearby which could be damaged by the trees or is the situation potentially dangerous
