Maritime Facilities Licences

All recreational maritime facilities users require a licence for the use of:
  • All recreational wharves, jetties and pontoons
  • All public boat-launching ramps and associated facilities

The annual licence fee for Mooring Holders is $25 (inclusive of GST) 

The annual licence fee for Trailer-Boat Owners is $25 (inclusive of GST) 

The requirement for a licence applies to all users of recreational maritime facilities- including visiting vessels. 

(All licenses are subject to annual renewal on 30th June. Licences will NOT be transferable)

  • Far North Holdings Ltd marina office at Opua (Ph 09 4027505)

The Council has appointed Far North Holdings Ltd as management agents for the new licenses, including an authority to enforce the new by-laws.

The purpose of the Maritime Facilities Licences is to provide dedicated funding to improve recreational maritime facilities in the Far North District.

Licences will apply to the facilities users (not to individual vessels) A mooring holder who also operates a trailer boat will require TWO licences. Mooring holders with more than one mooring will require a licence for EACH mooring held.
