Kerikeri-Waipapa Structure Plan

Nau mai haere mai piki mai, whakatau mai kia koutou nga tangata katoa, whakatau mai ki te roopu whiriwhiri ahuatanga mo tenei rohe ki Kerikeri-Waipapa

This page provides information about how the community has developed a vision for Kerikeri-Waipapa and the move toward an integrated plan that will help preserve this vision while providing for the area's rapid growth.
It is important to Council that the Structure Plan Map provided within the Kerikeri-Waipapa Structure Plan is clearly understood and that it is not a zoning map, rather it is the preliminary concept based upon the feedback to date. Although the Structure Plan Map proposes new "policy area" changes, they have no weighting until Council carries out a Variation or Plan Change to the District Plan, which will occur at a later date (and will again include consultation with the public).

Kerikeri-Waipapa Structure Plan

As a significant milestone, Council adopted the Kerikeri-Waipapa Structure Plan on 13 September 2007 after almost a year of public meetings, focus groups, media statements and publications designed to present planning options to the communities and encourage them to have a say in their future.

Where to from here?

The Structure Plan is a very broad direction setting document that proposes a number of studies, work and changes that will drive the area in an agreed direction. Before rezoning in the District Plan can be done, the Council needs to follow an information gathering process set out in the Resource Management Act (RMA). Once the Council has the required RMA information at hand, and has followed the prescribed consultation process, then the Council may change the zonings in the District Plan. All affected land owners will be notified at the start of the Plan Change process.

The LTCCOP 2009/19 identifies which projects from the KWSP have been funded and the following 10 year period.
