Dead Animals
This page provides information about dead animals on private property or on the road, and deceased registered dogs.
Dead animal on private property
The Council does not remove dead animals from private property. Owners of deceased animals may bury them on their own property if they choose to.
Dead animal on road
Please contact us and ask for a Request for Service (RFS) to be logged. Please provide as much information as possible.
Deceased registered dogs
In the event of the death of a registered dog, Council needs to be informed in writing. Please complete the Declaration of Death, Sale, Theft or Loss of Dog form. Owners of deceased registered dogs should retain their dog's registration tag, or supply a registered Veterinary Certificate, as they will need to return this to Council if they wish to apply for a refund of Dog Registration Fees.
