Which Communities have a Public Sewerage Scheme?
Council offers a sewerage network to some properties in the following areas

EDS Systems
Council also has EDS systems in Kohukohu and Awanui only. Properties that have these systems have a septic tank that collects the solids (blackwater) and also pipelines that takes the liquid (greywater) only to a treatment plant/area. These tanks are emptied out by Council every three years and are due to be cleaned next in 2011. If your system requires emptying prior to this date, you will need to engage a septic tank cleaner at your own expense.
