Strategic Planning
The Council regularly produces public documents to keep you advised of its plans, strategies and finances and to give you an opportunity to make submissions.
The Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP) is a 10-year plan that contains both financial and non-financial information. The purpose of the LTCCP is to inform the community of Council’s activities and the funding of those activities. It explains how Council intends to contribute to community well-being and identifies how progress will be monitored. It provides a picture of everything the Council is doing and how those things fit together – a road map of what Council is spending time and money on, and why it is doing this. Community consultation is a key element of the LTCCP process.
Council's LTCCP is called the Far North Future Plan and falls due for renewall during 2009 and every three years after that.
The Annual Plan focuses on Council’s work for the year ahead. It is incorporated into the LTCCP in the years when an LTCCP is published, and in the two years between each LTCCP. It is published as a separate document.
The Annual Report for each financial year provides information on what has been achieved by the Council, what has been spent and whether there have been any variations from the Annual Plan and LTCCP. It is usually adopted each October.
