All of the Far North is at Alert Level 2. Customers must wear a mask, sign in and follow social distancing guidelines at Alert Level 2.All our customer facing sites including service centres, libraries, the Museum@TeAhu and i-SITES are open. The Hokianga Ferry operates as normal.
The new Kawakawa Library and Service Centre is located in the Te Hononga Hundertwasser Memorial Park. Opened in October 2020, the library is in the heart of Kawakawa, co-located with a gallery, community workshop space and a memorial to Hundertwasser. It is also a stop on the Twin Coast Cycleway, and signals the gateway to the Bay of Islands..
Te Hononga Hundertwasser Memorial Park also has freedom camping spaces, as well as a 24/7 shower and toilet block for campers and cyclists.
Library and service centre open weekdays 8am-4-30pm, Library open Saturdays 9am-1pm. We offer a full range of FNDC services copying, scanning, faxing, public access internet and Wi-Fi.
Other programmes and services include eLibrary help, robotics and craft sessions, and Spark Jump - an initiative that allows eligible families to access prepaid internet services
