The new Kawakawa Library and Service Centre is located in the Te Hononga Hundertwasser Memorial Park. Opened in October 2020, the library is in the heart of Kawakawa, co-located with a gallery, community workshop space and a memorial to Hundertwasser. It is also a stop on the Twin Coast Cycle Trail, and signals the gateway to the Bay of Islands.

Te Hononga Hundertwasser Memorial Park also has freedom camping spaces, as well as a 24/7 shower and toilet block for campers and cyclists.

Library and service centre open weekdays 8am-4.30pm, Library open Saturdays 9am-1pm. We offer a full range of FNDC services copying, scanning, public access internet and Wi-Fi.

Other programmes and services include eLibrary help, robotics and craft sessions, and Spark Jump - an initiative that allows eligible families to access prepaid internet services.
