Face masks are still required indoors at service centres, i-SITEs, libraries and the Museum @ Te Ahu from Thursday 14 April. My Vaccine Passes are no longer required to access any council service. We appreciate your patience with this evolving situation.See the link below for information about our reduced hours.
We manage roadside vegetation by mowing or spraying weeds. If you do not want your roadside berm to be sprayed and are prepared to keep it and roadside drains outside your property clear of weeds, you can join the No spray register.
Mowing includes trimming of roadside grass, weeds and other light vegetation. This is part of a regular maintenance cycle. Mowing normally covers the area approximately 1.5m from the edge of the seal or metal at ground level, and 4.5m upwards. This is the zone that is most likely to cause unsafe obstructions for travelling vehicles.
Management of vegetation outside this area or 'vegetation envelope' (such as hazardous trees) is done on a case by case basis. If you would like to request an assessment, please use our online form.
Roadside spraying is carried out three times a year depending upon weather conditions and budget. Generally, spraying covers an average of 2m from the edge of the seal or formed road.
Property owners can request that their berm or verge is not sprayed. If you would like to be included on our No spray register, please complete the form below.
