It would be good to include some equipment for adults and the elderly to enable some light exercise and socialisation.
  2. Cheryl Kingi
Having been involved in education and establishing play areas, I'd happily korero and share what I've learned
  3. Justine Kitzen
Adding a splash pad area would be awesome!
  4. Louise McCaughan
I would love to see a playground that is accessible to children of all abilities.
It should be immersed in nature and tell a story of Kerikeri. There should be a range of natural obstacles that would enable children of different ages and abilities participate in play.
Using edible, sensory, and native plants in the design would encourage the children to interact with the space and learn about gardening, medicine and also help with emotional regulation.
  5. Andrea Phitidis
Frankly, anything has to be better than what's there now. Whatever the space ends up being, it needs to be a lot bigger to cater to the hugely increased number of children in our comnunity. Also, needs to be well clear of the parking area.
  6. Bekki Mills
Having traveled around the country during Covid times it is shocking to see how poor Kerikeri’s play facilities are. There are so many amazing examples of playgrounds around nz - New Plymouth, masterton and Whanganui to name a few.
  7. Cat Allen
Kerikeri being a big holiday spot doesn't supply much for children and tourist so a playground for all ages would be perfect, also for all the children that are local I hope to see something done sooner then later...

Needs some fencing around perimeter, especially around a toddler specific area. They run fast and it’s hard to chase them when you have bags/ prams/ babies etc.
Shady trees around seating/ picnic areas.

Make it natural to fit in with those ugly rocks...plant lots of trees

Hope you are not restricted to the minute area of playground that you currently have and that it will not take too long to get this organised and built as it is long overdue.
  12. Stacey Sturge
I would love to see a Pump track for kids on bikes/scooters, Maybe alongside the existing footpath 1km track? I think the teenage kids would really benefit from this as well.

A flying fox, Volleyball sand area/net, Big tube/tunnel slides, Air/tramp inground mat, Rope bridge. Some of my kiddies favourites :)
