Exhibition toys with fact and fiction

Open the door to a world of curiosity at Te Ahu Museum’s latest exhibition, where the line between fact and fiction blurs.

Open the door to a world of curiosity at Te Ahu Museum’s latest exhibition, where the line between fact and fiction blurs.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a creative thinker, or simply in search of a unique experience, Cabinet of Curiosities – Te Kāpata Tāonga Mīharo is certain to leave you fascinated, inspired and even a little confused.

The exhibition asks visitors to work out if the labels linked to its unique objects are in fact true or the work of fiction. The diverse collection of mysterious and eccentric objects gathered from around the world will stretch your imagination as you question, explore, and engage with the unexpected while wrestling to discover the truth.

In a fun twist the labels on the exhibits might only sometimes tell the whole truth – so don’t believe everything you see! As you wander through the exhibition, you'll encounter some information that leaves you wondering it is true or the product of creative imagination.

Once you have matched the labels to the correct exhibit, check in with the staff to see if you cracked the code. The exhibition is open now and runs to 30 November.
