Feast of jazz and blues at weekend festival

Bay of Islands Jazz and Blues Festival is on this weekend with more than 45 bands performing over three days. Find out more about who is playing and where to get your tickets.

Jazz and blues fans will have plenty to feast their ears on at Bay of Islands Jazz and Blues Festival this weekend with more than 45 bands performing over three-days, starting from 6pm on Friday 11 August.

Highlights include Chihiro Yamazaki and Route 14 Band travelling all the way from Japan, as well as the return of top New Zealand jazz band Nairobi Trio.

Bay of Islands Music Festival Trust is running the non-profit event, which received $2,500 in funding from the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board to help with shuttle bus and promotional costs.

A full three-day pass (which includes a shuttle bus pass) is $80 with day tickets costing $60.

The festival is held at seven venues across Paihia, Russell and Haruru with a shuttle bus every hour operating between some venues (free to three-day pass holders).
