Far North District Council is currently working through a large number of consent applications due to exceptional growth that is occurring in the district and has temporarily paused Concept Development Meetings (CDMs) and Pre-Application Meetings.

Pausing the CDMs and pre-application meetings will allow Council staff to focus on ensuring that consents are turned around within an acceptable and appropriate time frame, during this period of increased workload.

A pre application meeting is intended to provide initial advice on specific issues identified for discussion by the applicant when applying for a consent.

A concept development meeting gives customers the opportunity for preliminary discussion about the broad concepts and site constraints relating to their proposed development. It is an informal meeting with no fixed agenda.

Booking a pre-application or Concept meeting is beneficial in helping applicants prepare and submit a full and detailed development plan, especially when planning a large or complex development.

Concept Development Meetings (CDMs) and Pre-Application Meetings are expected to restart at a later date and will be communicated on the Council’s website.
