Rope and bollard fence improves Foreshore Rd safety

Safety has been improved along one of the new footpaths in Ahipara with the completion of a rope and bollard fence on Foreshore Road.

Safety has been improved along one of the new footpaths in Ahipara with the completion of a rope and bollard fence on Foreshore Road.

The new fence was installed last month by contractors Northscape in response to community complaints that cars were parking on the footpath. Following community consultation, gaps have been created in the fence line to ensure beachgoers can safely and easily access the beach with surfboards, beach gear, and pushchairs.

The new fence is part of the Te Hiku Open Spaces Revitalisation Project, which is funded by Kānoa – the government’s Regional Economic Development & Investment Unit and involves extensive community consultation.
