**UPDATE** 3PM FRIDAY 17 NOVEMBER** This work will now begin on Monday 27 November

Part of State Highway 10 north of Kerikeri will be closed next week with detours in place while resurfacing work is carried out over four days.

The project by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency will be undertaken between Wiroa Road and Waimate North Road. Works will begin Monday 20 November between 7.30am and 5pm.

Both lanes of the highway will be closed during the first two days of work and a detour in place via Wiroa and Waimate North Roads. The highway will reopen on the following two days with stop/go traffic management in place, and a reduced speed limit of 30km/h. Motorists are urged to slow down when passing through the work site and follow instructions of roadside contractors.

The chip-sealing work being carried out by contractor Fulton Hogan includes laying new seal, sweeping up loose chips, and line marking. The work will be deferred to the following day if weather is unsuitable.

Affected residents and businesses have been informed of the works and will still be able to access their properties. Businesses will get deliveries and customers through but may face some delays. Emergency services will have priority access at all times.

If anyone needs more information or has any concerns, contact Waka Kotahi on 0800 4 HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49).
