SH15 Twin Bridges and Awarua Bridge Investigations - ROAD CLOSURE

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is carrying out investigations of two bridges on State Highway 15 between Maungatapere and Kaikohe next week. These night works will take place on Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th June, dependent on weather and other disruptions.

For us to safely complete these investigations the road will be closed to all through traffic at Awarua Bridge, north of Nukutawhiti from 7pm to 6am on each of these nights.

Through traffic between Twin Bridges in Nukutawhiti and at Awarua Bridge, north of Nukutawhiti, will also be closed between 7pm and 11pm on Tuesday 28 June 2022, dependent on weather and other disruptions.

Road users travelling between Maungatapere and Kaikohe are asked to use State Highway 1 as an alternative route.

While the bridges will be closed to through traffic, access will remain along State Highway 15 up to each bridge from either direction.
