Proposal to close road - Kaitaia Christmas Parade 2020

Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure)

Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Far North

District Council, for the purpose of staging the Kaitaia Christmas Parade 2020, proposes to close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder.

  • Date of Event: 5th December 2020
  • Time of Event: 12pm – 2pm

All roads leading into the road closure will be manned by the Far North REAP Road Safety team who will also have additional resources including vehicles, vehicle roof mounted flashing lights, barriers etc.  Floats will rally in the old Pak n Save West Lane before making their way onto Commerce Street (via Taaffe Street) then make their way South to Bank Street. The Road Safety team and the Highway Policing team will manage the floats during the parade.  Floats will make their way along Bank Street back on to West Lane. Detours will be in place and traffic management will be along the route. During the proposed period of closure, alternative provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road.

Publication will be advertised in the Northland Age on Tuesday 24th November 2020.

Submissions will close on Thursday 3rd December 2020. Any persons wishing to submit on or object to the proposal are invited to do so from the date of publication of this notice.
