2022 Parking and Road Use Bylaw

No longer on display. Expired on 23 June 2022, 12:00 AM

The Far North District Council gives notice that on 19 May 2022, the council resolved to make two bylaws.

The Parking Bylaw helps to ensure fair and effective use of parking across our district. It provides the legal mechanism under which parking spaces are made and enforced, including conditions (such as accessible parking or time restrictions) for their use.

The Road Use Bylaw helps to ensure safe and fair road use throughout the Far North District. It regulates activities on roads (including footpaths and berms) and adjoining land. It includes rules for vehicles (such as one-way roads, and no righthand turns), stands and mobile shops, structures, animals, alfresco dining, and other conditions that may affect road safety or the environment.

Both bylaws came into force on 23 May 2022.

Copies of these bylaws are available for public inspection, free of charge, at the council’s district office in Kaikohe from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays). These bylaws can also be viewed on the council’s website www.fndc.govt.nz
