BELLAS, Eddie
Affiliation:
N/A
Candidate statement:
As a proud Far North local, I am standing in the Doubtless Bay Subdivision to ensure our area is represented with integrity, transparency, and action.
I have a background in leadership service to the community. I was a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the NZ Army for more than Fifteen years and have spent nearly a decade as a Kaitaia Volunteer Firefighter and Fisheries Officer. I’m a business owner and understand the challenges of surviving in the current climate.
I’ve worked alongside whānau, community groups and local businesses to navigate through tough times. I will work hard to ensure events are bought back to our area I.e Mangonui Festival. I want events to be held without the red tape and restrictions.
I will champion for local businesses, infrastructure, value for money and less red tape.
Vote Eddie Bellas - A Strong Voice for Doubtless Bay Subdivision.

RETI, Chev

Candidate statement:
Ko Chev Reti ahau, he uri nō Ngāti Kahu.
I've lived in the north for 40 of my 43 years and care deeply about the wellbeing and development of our region.
I bring over 20 years' experience in education and currently work for the Ministry of Education. I've also been a founder and business owner for 9 years, so I understand the importance of enterprise and a strong local economy.
As a junior coach, secretary, and board member, I value the role of volunteers in building strong communities. I believe in relational leadership - leading through connection, trust, and shared purpose.
I'm standing to amplify community voices and improve our infrastructure, environment, and economy. I've seen the impact of poor roading, unsafe walkways, and limited internet access. I want to help our community not just live here - but thrive here.
