Candidate statement:

Tena ra koutou e nga rau Rangatira ma,
There’re many reasons why I’ve agreed to my nomination onto the Kaikohe Hokianga Community Board (North Hokianga Subdivision).
Born and raised beneath the sacred mountains of Panguru and Papata, I apprenticed on my marae, church, sports, kohanga and other local committees, succeeding into governance roles on marae, Land Reservations, and School and Health Board Trusts, and graduating into community leader, kaumatua and Minister in my rohe. I’m more than able to undertake this important role.
Lately, our North Hokianga Subdivision has faced a number of challenges which also motivate me, including: the continuous degradation of our roading networks, the health challenges of general and emergency access to medical care and services, the current government's failure to uphold its Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and social duty of care to all citizens of Aotearoa before popularity and profits.
No reira, nga manakitanga, Mauriora.
