Prime position provided at Kerikeri skate comp
Elevated seating put spectators in prime position to view the acrobatics of top skateboarders from around the country at a recent skate competition. See results and photos here.
The Kerikeri Vert Jam skate competition didn’t disappoint in attracting exceptional talent from across the country to the new skate park at the Kerikeri Domain last month.
Top skateboarders went all out showcasing their ‘vertical’ acrobatics while supporters took advantage of elevated grandstand seating putting them in prime position to view the skate ramp action.
It was the sixth annual ‘Vert Jam’ meet in Kerikeri but the first with grandstand seating which was provided with funding support from the Bay of Islands – Whangaroa Community Board. The board’s $4800 contribution to the event also helped with volunteer expenses, tutor accommodation and a sound system.
Free skate boarding lessons were also offered as part of the event (see photos below). For results and more photos see below.
