Time is running out to have a say on the Proposed Far North District Plan and to influence rules that will shape the district over the next 10 years.

Time is running out to have a say on the Proposed Far North District Plan and to influence rules that will shape the district over the next 10 years.

Formal submissions on the Proposed District Plan close at 5pm this Friday 21 October. This follows a 13-week public consultation that opened the plan up to submissions from landowners, tangata whenua and the community.

The Proposed District Plan was notified in July after a comprehensive review of the current, or Operative District Plan, as is required by the Resource Management Act.

The new plan sets the framework for land use and development across the district. It provides a key opportunity for people to have direct input into how the Proposed Plan can achieve sustainable management of our district’s natural resources and respond to the growth challenges for housing and economic development.

Go to pdp.fndc.govt.nz to view the plan and supporting material, and to make an online submission.
