Candidate statement:

Ngā mihi nui, a huge thank you to everyone who supported me over the past term as one of your South Hokianga representatives on the Kaikohe Hokianga Community Board. I would like to keep fighting for Hokianga to be heard, to be seen and to recieve our fair share. I will use what I have learned about Local Government over the past 3 years to keep the pressure on Council to: maintain our roads, footpaths, and all FNDC assets, implement affordable land-based wastewater solutions, increase affordable housing, improve Elderly Housing, support local educational and employment opportunities, and support hapu and community resilience to extreme events. I will continue to help people navigate Council systems and to advocate for local issues.
I grew up in Hokianga, am a member of the Hauora Hokianga Trust, Rawene Civil Defence, Te Mauri o te Wai, and a volunteer in the Rawene Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Candidate statement:

Kia Ora,
At 21 years of age I was born and raised in Hokianga on our family farm. Growing up in my family I was fortunate to be given a range of experiences, from school & sporting endeavours, community kaupapa, and employment. It's these experiences, and the support of my whanau, that motivated me to stand in this election. I grew up watching those around me go to bat for years, through generations, to improve the quality of life in our communities.
Hapu/Community led - Council supported solutions for water, safe driveable roads, fit for purpose council services, and beautiful places to live & enjoy. I have watched & learned from these battles and been a part of them myself as a submitter & supporter in small but meaningful ways. Now I would like your support to continue this journey as the Community Board Representative for South Hokianga.
