Born in Awanui with 3 years in Auckland confirming that my place was in the far north. Management level employment in the Dairy/Mining Industries, MAF, to establishing a training and education Organisation.
Currently, I own and operate an Antique and Rental business. I chair two Incorporated community groups and NZ Sovaji Ryu Karate.
As the elected member to the Te Hiku Community Board (Whatuwhiwhi Ward) for the last 5 plus years I have been able to implement the goals stated in my initial applications.
That is to support communities to plan and prioritise there goals while linking them to the relevant stakeholders, including FNDC, to achieve there goals through direct contact.
Taking ownership and building networks is the focus.
I thoroughly enjoy this role, it challenges, and walking with people that treasure what we have and can develope in the Far North.
