Hokianga vehicle ferry
Passenger-only ferry service for May
From 1 May 2023 the Rāwene to Kohukohu ferry will operate as a passenger-only service on the regular timetable, for about 30 days. Vehicle services will be suspended during this time. Pick up/drop off in Kohukohu will be from the town wharf also (not at the Narrows). Normal service will resume in June.
The Hokianga ferry, between Rāwene and Kohukohu, is operated on behalf of the Far North District Council by Northland Ferries.
Until 30 June 2023 all passengers travel for half price. The discount does not include vehicles. For more details go to the 'Costs' tab below.
From 1 July 2023 Community Service Card holders only will travel half price permanently.

You can buy tickets on board the ferry. Pay in cash or use the on-board EFTPOS machine which accepts EFTPOS cards and Visa or Mastercard credit cards.
