Bridge project hits the road

Roadworks, including rebuilding, resurfacing, and resealing, begin next week on the Willow Creek Bridge at Pākaraka, with traffic controls and reduced speed limits in place.

The road rebuild project on State Highway 10 is being carried out by contractors, Far North Roading Ltd on behalf of NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) as part of its Northland roads renewals programme.

The work is scheduled to run from Monday 13 January until early March and motorists should allow extra time for their journeys as there may be some delays.

The area will be reduced to one lane while work is ongoing, with traffic lights and a temporary speed limit in place.

Motorists should watch out for road workers, adhere to the temporary speed limit and follow traffic management directions and signs when driving through the work site.

Check the NZTA Journey Planner for the latest travel information before starting your journey.
