VIDEO - Outer space lands in Kaitāia

An interactive science exhibition that is out of this world is in its final week at Te Ahu Centre in Kaitāia.

The Tūhura Tuarangi – Aotearoa in Space showcase, run by the Otago Museum, is touring New Zealand and has touched down in the Atrium and Museum at Te Ahu.

Visitors can build a satellite, launch a rocket, and learn how to create rocket fuel from water. They can also hold a meteorite dating back 4.5 billion years and touch part of a Russian spacecraft. Learn about our shared whakapapa in the night sky and explore Aotearoa’s connections to space that stretch back to the earliest Polynesian navigators.

Space enthusiasts of all ages can explore the universe at this free event at Te Ahu, which runs until this Saturday 12th August. Boldly go…
