VIDEO - New Kerikeri playground not just child’s play

Local families visiting Te Amo Pūtoro, a new playground at Kerikeri Sports Complex, can expect more than simply a place to play. 

The māra hūpara is a co-designed play space inspired by traditional Māori design using natural materials like logs, rocks and plants. It’s for all ages and highlights the potential for inclusive, community-led spaces that honour the histories of mana whenua while strengthening social and cultural ties across the wider community.
