Your guide to council services over the Easter break
If you’re wondering what council services are open during Easter weekend, look no further. From help with storm recovery, to libraries and isites, here’s the information you need to navigate the public holiday.
A top priority for council teams during the Easter break, is continuing support for those affected by the recent storm.
Storm recovery
With the local state of emergency lifted today (Thursday 2 April), we have moved from an emergency response into a recovery one, for an initial period of 28 days.
This means our teams will continue to get emergency supplies to people and ensure storm-damaged homes are safe to return to.
You can read more about this on our website, and please call 0800 920 029 if you or someone you know needs assistance but hasn’t yet made contact with Civil Defence and council teams.
Far North service centres and libraries
Council libraries and service centres across the Far North will be closed from Good Friday 3 April to Easter Monday 6 April. Normal hours will resume on 7 April.
Stocking up on your holiday reading is still possible, however, by visiting Our-eLibrary resources, which are available throughout the holidays with a range of online books, magazines and movie streaming services.
Isite visitor information centres
All Far North isite visitor information centres will operate their usual hours over the Easter holidays.
For more information go to Visitor-information-centres.
