Don’t miss out! State of the Far North tickets going fast

Want to find out how the council is transforming the way it maintains district roads using ‘Find and Fix’? Or maybe you’d like to know how much will be spent building stuff (capital works) in 2026/27? Answers to these questions and so much more will be shared next week during the second State of the Far North Address to be held at the Turner Centre in Kerikeri.

The inaugural State of the Far North Address - Road to Recovery was hailed as “a groundbreaking approach to local government transparency” by audience members and news media. This year, State of the Far North - Te Taumata o Te Hiku o te Ika will build on that success under the theme Shifting Gears – The Road Ahead.

Kahika Moko Tepania will lift the hood on council operations and, along with councillors, explain how the council is responding to myriad challenges facing the district.

He’ll shine a light on the council operation’s 100-day plan to jumpstart the new triennium, outline plans to improve dog control, detail how it’s boosting responses to climate change, and how the whole district benefits from council agreements with iwi and hapū. And that’s just the beginning of the journey!

The State of the Far North invites the wider community to engage in one of the district’s key annual conversations, hear directly about progress and priorities, and connect with leaders and organisations shaping the future of the Far North.

Tickets are being snapped up fast, so secure yours here as seating is limited.

Please arrive by 5.30pm on Thursday 26 February to be seated for a 6pm start. The audience will have an opportunity to discuss the presentation and network with councillors following the address.

The Turner Centre auditorium is fully accessible and includes two wheelchair spaces. To reserve one, please contact us at communications@fndc.govt.nz
