Tell us about your Anzac Day event. Services in the Far North
Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou. We will remember them.
There will be a strong turn out of services honouring Anzac Day across the Far North on Saturday 25 April.
A remembrance day for those New Zealand and Australian soldiers who lost their lives in Gallipolli was first observed in 1916. Anzac Day has since evolved into one that acknowledges all those who have served and sacrificed their lives representing New Zealand in international conflicts.
A starting list of Anzac Day services in the Far North can be found below and residents are asked to let us know about other services to be included in this list.
Please send the place, time, and type of service to communications@fndc.govt.nz by Friday 24 April for your service to be added to the information below.
Anzac Day is marked with a public holiday on Monday 27 March. All Far North libraries and service centres will be closed on this day. The isite at Te Ahu in Kaitāia will also be closed. The isites at Bay of Islands (Paihia) and Hokianga (Ōpononi) will open as usual on Monday 27 March. Our contact centres on 0800 920 029 will also remain open 24 hours a day during this public holiday.
