Short-term closure ahead for Allen Bell Drive resurfacing work

A section of Allen Bell Drive in Kaitāia will be temporarily closed to traffic on between 9am and 3pm tomorrow (Wednesday 4 February) while road resurfacing work is carried out.

During this time the entrances and exits from Matthews Avenue and Dunn Street will be closed, with a signed detour in place via State Highway 1 and Donald Lane. The detour is expected to add around five minutes to normal travel times.

Traffic controls will be in place to allow residents on Kitchener Street and those from 14- 37 Allen Bell Drive to access their properties.

Motorists are asked to park vehicles off Allen Bell Drive during the work period and to follow all signage and directions from contractors.

The work is being carried out as part of routine road maintenance. The road will receive a chipseal treatment to help protect the surface and extend its lifespan. Loose chip is expected following the work, with sweeping scheduled approximately five days later.
