Decisions and appeals on Far North Proposed District Plan

Far North District Council notified its decisions on submissions and further submissions to the Proposed District Plan on 30 June 2026. The decisions include amendments to the publicly notified plan provisions and planning maps, in response to submissions. Appeals have been lodged with the Environment Court in relation to the Council’s decisions. This notice has been prepared to satisfy directions of the Environment Court.

How to view or print the relevant documents

Electronic copies of the Hearings Panel recommendation reports, Council decisions, and Environment Court appeals lodged to date can be viewed online and downloaded or printed from the Council website at pdp.fndc.govt.nz.

The Council will promptly notify the relevant appellant of any requests, who will arrange for physical copies to be sent.

How to become a party to proceedings

You may become a party to an appeal if you made a submission or a further submission about the subject matter of the appeal or if you are otherwise a person described in section 274(1) of the Resource Management Act 1991.

If you wish to become a party to an appeal you must:

  • lodge a notice (in Form 33 of the Resource Management (Forms, Fees, and Procedure) Regulations 2003) with the Environment Court and serve copies of your notice on the Council and the appellant by 29 September 2026; and
  • serve copies of your notice on all other parties by 6 October 2026.
