We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

VIDEO – A quarter century of helping young jobseekers

For over 25 years, the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs has helped rangatahi all over New Zealand prepare for, and secure jobs in a wide range of industries.

Mayor Moko Tepania and Mayors Taskforce programme advisor, Tammie Metcalfe, describe the unique challenges that young people in the Far North face in joining the local workforce.
