Road closure for pavement rehabilitation works

A section of Te Ahu Ahu Road in Waimate North will be closed for up to four weeks, with a detour in place, while pavement rehabilitation works are carried out.

About 500 metres of the road will be closed between State Highway One and Showgrounds Road, with access available for residents and emergency services along the affected stretch.

The work, which started on 23 February, is being carried out on weekdays between 7.30am and 6pm, with a detour via Showgrounds Road.

Motorists in the area may experience slight delays while the project is underway, and drivers are asked to slow down, use the detour route, and follow directions from the road crews.

The rehabilitation work is being carried out by Far North District Council contractors Ventia.
