We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

Check out the sports hub

The much-anticipated Te Puāwaitanga – Bay of Islands Sports Hub opened in May 2025 with the first of many soccer matches.

We went along to ask players and spectators whether the new ground and facilities measure up to their expectations.
