Motorists are being warned of road closures in and around Kerikeri this weekend as hundreds put their best foot forward for the half marathon followed by the annual street party.

The 21.1km half marathon course kicks off at Ōkaihau tomorrow morning (Saturday 18 November), finishing at the Kerikeri Domain.

Road closures for the half marathon begin at 5.30am and end at about 11am. Roads affected are Waiare Road, Wehirua Road, and Wiroa Road, but Lodore Road and Waimate North Road, including the route’s intersections with State Highway 1 and State Highway 10, may also be impacted by the event.

Motorists are urged to take extra care while using those roads during the period of the event.

Road closures will affect the centre of Kerikeri after the half marathon, from 2pm to 11.30pm, for the annual street party.

The closures are on Kerikeri Road from the intersection of Fairview Drive to Homestead Road and the beginning of the intersection at Cobham Road.

The event runs from 5pm-9.30pm with a range of food stalls from café owners, restauranteurs, food trucks, breweries, and vineyards.

Tickets for those aged 14 years and above are $10 if booked in advance from Eventfinda or The Sound Lounge or $15 at the gate. Children under 14 and seniors are free or by koha.
