$80,000 in event funding up for grabs
The Event Investment Fund is open for applications until Friday 18 August for events that attract visitors and enrich the Far North. Read more about applying here.
Events that attract visitors and enrich the Far North could be eligible for a slice of $80,000 in funding from the Events Investment Fund.
Event organisers have until Friday 18 August to apply for funding to cover venue or equipment hire, catering, or other costs associated with running an event.
Past events that have benefitted from the Events Investment Fund include the Matariki Pēwhairangi Festival in Paihia this year and the Houhora Big Game Sportfishing Club who received funding towards their competitions this year.
A comprehensive business plan, completed application form and financial accounts supporting the application are a minimum requirement for an event to be considered as eligible for funding.
The council’s Events-Investment-Fund webpage has information on how to apply, what the application requirements are, and what to expect after you apply. It includes an online guide that takes you through the application process step by step, along with contact details for our funding advisors, who can help with your application.
Decisions about which applicants have been successful are expected to be made by the end of September 2023. Applications that are incomplete, missing an application form or that do not contain enough supporting information will not be considered for funding.
The application period opened on Tuesday 4 July and will run for another four weeks. The Event Investment Fund is administered by council staff.
