Waterfront Drive will be closed for approximately 24 hours this weekend with the return of the popular Mangōnui Waterfront Festival which is being held on Saturday 11 March 12pm to 6pm.
The local festival, which will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary, provides a platform for local businesses to sell their products and is an opportunity for people from near and far to experience historic Mangōnui while enjoying a family friendly atmosphere.
It will be the first time the event had been held in two years after COVID-19 lockdowns saw it cancelled in 2021 and 2022. The festival celebrates the Far North’s unique offerings with stalls packed along Waterfront Drive from just north of the Old Oak Boutique Hotel to the wharf.
Waterfront Drive will be closed to traffic approximately 550m south of Mabel Thorburn Place to 50m north of Tasman Street from 7pm Friday 10 March to 7.30pm Saturday 11 March.
More information about the Mangōnui Waterfront Festival is available online.
