We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

VIDEO - What is He Whakaputanga - The Declaration of Independence?

On 28 October, Aotearoa marks the 190th anniversary of He Whakaputanga, the Declaration of Independence signed by rangatira on behalf of iwi in the Far North. In this video, Rāniera Kaio from Te Rūnanga o Whaingaroa explains why He Whakaputanga played such a key role in the early relationship with the British.
