About the water supply
The only source of water for Ōmanaia-Rāwene is the Petaka Stream, which is very small. Our water take point is at the edge of the bushline in the Waimā Ranges.
Supply improvements
A $2.8 million water treatment plant and storage tanks near Ōmanaia was completed in 2019 and is now supplying the Ōmanaia and Rāwene communities. The facility has increased the supply’s resilience meaning Level 2 water restrictions no longer need to be applied automatically in December.
