Christmas parade road disruption

Santa and his many helpers will be bringing Christmas to Paihia and Kaikohe this Friday, and then Kaitāia on Saturday but to keep everyone safe there will be reduced road access for several hours for each town.

Friday 2 December

Santa will  kick off the local Christmas season with a parade in Paihia on Friday 2 December from lunch time. Williams Road will have reduced access between State Highway 11 and Selwyn Road from 1pm to 9pm.

Santa’s sleigh will then whisk its way to Kaikohe for a Christmas parade beginning at 2pm on Friday. Wihongi Street between State Highway 12 and Sydney Street will have reduced access from 2pm and 8.30pm.

Saturday 3 December

After restocking his lolly bag, Saint Nick will be delighting tamariki in Kaitāia on Saturday 3 December from 11.30am. Access to parts of Taffee Street, Commerce Street and Bank Street will be reduced between 11.30am and 2pm.

After catching his jolly breath, Father Christmas will be guest of honour at Kerikeri Christmas in the Domain. NO road disruption for this event, which starts at 4.30pm.

Friday 9 December

After a week-long break, Santa Claus will complete his Far North engagements with a much-anticipated visit to Moerewa on Friday 9 December for the Moerewa Christmas Parade. Parts of Marshall Street, Pembroke Street and Plunket Street will have reduced access between 6pm and 8pm.
