Ex-cyclone Lola lashes Northland. Impacted roads

Our district was battered overnight by ex-cyclone Lola which whipped up gale easterlies and huge swells on the east coast. Find out what roads are impacted.

**1pm Monday 30 October**

A fallen tree has temporarily closed Wharepunga Road near the intersection with Parrott Road south of Kaikohe. Crews are attending to ensure the road is cleared. Waiare Road was also down to one lane due to a fallen tree this morning. This should now be cleared.

There are no other reports of partial or complete road closures in the Far North.

**9am - Monday 30 October**

Our district was battered overnight by ex-cyclone Lola which whipped up gale easterlies and huge swells on the east coast. Up to 100mm of rain has also fallen across parts of Northland. The good news is that currently no Far North District roads are closed. However, please be aware that flood-prone and low-lying roads could be inundated on both coasts with high tides due later this morning. We’ll keep you updated here if our district roads are impacted. Please help us by reporting any flooding, fallen trees or slips by calling 0800 920 029.

The Hokianga vehicle ferry is operating. Check the Northland Ferries Hokianga Facebook page for latest updates.

There are currently no closures reported on the State Highway network. Please check the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner webpage for updates.

Unfortunately, there are currently several power outages across the Far North. Find out more on the Top Energy outage webpage.
