Local flavour for new library book bags
A new 'designer' book bag is now available at all Far North libraries that incorporates the drawings and doodles of 10 competition winners selected from across the district.
There’s a distinct new Far North flavour to the book bags that enthusiastic library users could find themselves needing to carry their reading treasures home safely.
The Design-A-Book-Bag competition encouraged local kids to lend their design ideas to creating a bag that depicts what they love about living in the Far North. It was the first time designing the book bag ‘look’ was run as a competition across all six Far North libraries.
To find a winner, the competition organisers took a different approach. Ten winners were selected from across the district and that local creativity was then taken one step further with the winners’ drawings and doodles being incorporated into one collage to create a totally unique design.
The new look book bags are available now with a small donation at all six council libraries.
