New system makes funding applications easier

The council has adopted a new online grant application system that will make applying for funding easier and more efficient for community groups and individuals.

The web-based application management tool is hosted by SmartyGrants. It is designed to make the funding application process easier and faster for applicants and will also keep an accurate and up-to-date record in the one place.

Applicants log on, create a profile, follow the portal instructions, and then submit their application. They will then receive an automatic email acknowledging that the application has been received. Once an applicant’s profile has been created, they can keep track and get regular updates on progress and view what allocations have been made.

Organisations and community groups can still speak directly with council funding advisors if they need help to apply for funding. They can get assistance from staff at council service centres or email the funding team directly at: funding@fndc.govt.nz.
