Te Hiku board seeks feedback on community improvement plans

Te Hiku Community Board is developing concept improvement plans to identify a vision for the future of recreational and community living in Hihi, Doubtless Bay, Karikari Peninsula, Houhora and Pukenui.

Te Hiku Community Board is developing concept improvement plans to identify a vision for the future of recreational and community living in Hihi, Doubtless Bay, Karikari Peninsula, Houhora and Pukenui.

As a starting point, the board has drafted improvement plans and is seeking public feedback to better understand how communities want their spaces to function. To provide an opportunity to further refine the draft plans, Te Hiku Community Board is hosting drop-in sessions for those who live, work, and play in Hihi, Coopers Beach, Taipa, Karikari Peninsula and Rangiputa. Residents can ask questions about the concept improvement plans and share their feedback in person. There is no need to book; simply drop by one of the drop-in sessions listed below:

  • Hihi community drop-in session:  Thursday 26 January from 11am - 2pm at the Hihi Fire Station, Marchant Road
  • Coopers Beach community drop-in session:  Wednesday 22 February from 10am - 3pm at Coopers Beach Bowling Club, 234 State Highway 10
  • Taipa community drop-in session: Thursday 2 March from 11am - 2pm at Taipa Rugby Club, East Street
  • Karikari Peninsula community drop-in session: Tuesday 7 March from 11am - 2pm at Karikari Community Hall, 16 Matai Bay Road
  • Rangiputa community drop-in session:  Thursday 16 March from 4pm - 6pm at Rangiputa Fire Station, 699 Rangiputa Road

Te Hiku Community Board hosted a meeting regarding the Pukenui and Houhora plans in May last year.  The community is welcome to provide further feedback on all the plans via our website.

Printed plans will be provided at all drop-in sessions along with paper and pens for feedback. Questions or feedback can also be emailed to submissions@fndc.govt.nz.

The plans can be reviewed on the council website here.
