The popular AROHA awareness campaign is back, this time featuring Flynn - an adopted mixed breed – reminding Far North District residents the best time to pay their annual registration fees is coming soon.
Briar and Flynn are fronting the Council’s dog registration awareness campaign this year, encouraging dog owners to show their love by registering their dog. Briar adopted Flynn from Council about 18 months ago, and his non-stop energy has been entertaining Briar and her partner every day since.
From 1 July to 31 August, dog owners will pay the best rates when registering their dogs. Dog owners can still pay after 1 September but this will incur a late payment penalty. All dogs must be registered by law.
The first social media post of the campaign encourages dog owners to update their details with Council before 1 June so they can receive the latest copy of Kurī Kārere Doggo Digest. This newsletter is packed with information about what dog registration fees pay for and how registration is a practical way for owners to show love, along with providing for their dog’s basic needs. It’s all part of the package of responsible dog ownership.
Stars of last year’s AROHA campaign, Aimee and her dog, also named Flynn (it’s a popular name), can still be seen in the pre-movie warm up at CC’s Cafe Cinema in Kerikeri.
